When I saw the pictures Stephen came up with, and how cute Landry looked, I decided it was worthy of a Blog post!  Something that we have really begun to do more of is our First Year Session.  We have a couple different options but they range from Maternity through the 1st year pictures.  What a fun way to be part of your clients lives and help them capture these huge milestones.  If you know someone who is expecting, or has a small child, let them know we are here and want to capture this time for them.

This was Landry’s 6 month session.  Isn’t she a doll?  Since I am expecting again and am going to have a GIRL, I will be finding out where her mama got this cuter than ever bow or making it myself!

OK, so the title is really referring more to how long it took me to write this thing, but to most couples (my sister included) the wedding day generally seems like a long time coming.  I’m really excited and happy for my sister, even though in my mind I still see her as an adorable little red head girl who would follow me around everywhere.  Its hard to believe that this day came, but I know that many exciting and challenging days are ahead for her and Colin and their future family. I’m glad that I was here to see off their new start.

It was a great honor to be a part of their big day.  Its hard to balance taking photos and just enjoying all that a wedding is, but I think that I was able to successfully able to blend both (with the help of my wonderful wife and Ana).  I wish Colin and Cherie God’s blessing on their new lives together.  I’m glad that they are still not far away and I’m sure that we will go to many Astros, Aggie, and Rockets games in the future.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned over the last couple of years its that I’m not great at the whole ‘Social Media’ thing.    Those that know me, know that I am a man of few words, and I guess that spills over into the digital world – who knew?  I definitely wanted to say a few words about Gregg and Libby though.

These are som great friends of ours from Living Hope, they are recently engaged and going to be married this fall.  We are so excited for them and its been a lot fun to watch them go from acquaintances to being engaged.  I can remember months ago talking with my wife about whether they were becoming a couple or not.  A few days later we found out that our hunch was right!

We decided to go out to Brenham for our photoshoot.  We had a really fun idea to use kites in our photoshoot (Gregg’s last name is Kite), and it was looking great for wind heading out there.  When we get there though the wind totally died.  We still got some fun ones though.  Gregg and Libby were a blast to work with and we really look forward to their wedding both as friends and as their photographers.  We know that God will do great things through their marriage and can’t wait to watch and be a small part it. One of the fun parts about doing photography is the opportunity to capture my friends’ big days (weddings, kids, and all those important events).  I have to say that I am extremely grateful to my friends who trusted me when I was first starting out.  If wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.  Another one of my good friends is getting married this summer, and my list of available friends is getting quite slim!  I’m excited to capture Chris and Amy’s photos and they are having the wedding at a beautiful hotel down in Galveston.

We just did an engagement session in April and here are some of my favorites (there was a ton of great ones though!).  Chris and Amy did an awesome job and we had a ton of fun, we even checked out a couple of new spots that worked out very well.  Congrats you two!

Becca has been a source of joy in the Ward home.  Always available to text in the middle of the night, smile her pure ray of sunshine smile, and just be Becca.  We got to know Becca a lot better when she watched our precious boys and we all came to love her.  Now shes graduating college and going out to make her mark in the world, although if she leaves Bryan we will all feel the loss.  It was a joy to do her photo shoot.  These are just a few of MANY amazing photos ~Emily

One of my favorite parts about capturing memories are the relationships that are made.  I recently took these bridal photos of Mandi, and this weekend I had the honor of photographing their wedding.  Since doing their engagement photos many months ago I’ve been excited to work with them and get to know them better.  Over this last year I’ve also had the privilege of photographing their niece and her sister’s family, as well as some other friends of Josh and Mandi.   It’s a ton of fun to get a small glimpse into more of their family and friends and to be there during important life-changing events.  Its such an honor and a delight when we get a call or email that says ‘I saw this person’s photos and they told me about you’.  We hope to be there for You, your family, and your friends for many years to come.

So a week ago today we were part of the Spring Bridal Show of the Brazos Valley. It was a time of much preparation; getting our walls re-structured and repainted, designing and ordering new and old products,  borrowing a truck and trailor from our dear friends, and recruiting some great help from our church Hope Group.  Of course the morning of it was steadily raining just as we needed to put the walls and bookcases on the trailer and make our way to the show- without a tarp.  And of course it rained the whole way there and stopped the minute we got there!  We were mopping up our bookcases with large bathroom towels and using a hair dryer to dry off our classy brown seats!  Oh what a morning!  We had a blast though having help from our friends, making our booth homey, and looking forward to meeting new people at the show.  We always feel good about our booth because we put our hearts in to it, we take pride in what we do, and enjoy getting to be creative in new ways each year.  I think it was a great show.  There were tons of other vendors there and people really stepped it up and came up with some cool designs.  If you were at the show we hope you had a great time, and that you give us a call- we’d love to make you the focus of your day!
